How is a Human Resource Development degree different from a Human Resource Management degree?
While an HRM degree will focus more on the transactional functions of HR (such as compensation, compliance, and benefits), the HRD degree prepares professionals to work holistically with human issues within organizations. Students in the program will learn to exercise collaborative leadership, integrate evaluation and assessment in a professional setting, facilitate in the development of learning organizations, and exercise conflict/resolution, consulting, and mentoring skills.
