How is a game begun?

0

For the game to begin the players, both offensive and defensive, shall take their respective positions on the field. The visiting team plays the offensive first and the first batter in the order takes his position in the batters box. The pitcher should be positioned on the pitchers mound ready to deliver a pitch and all the fielders in their respective positions on fair territory (this should be followed throughout the course of the play) with the exception of the catcher who is positioned behind the batter. Once all the players occupy their designated positions the umpire will signal commencement of the game by calling play.
