How is a distance learning course different from an on-campus, classroom-based course?
An online course uses communications technology for its instruction and interaction. Courses taught via distance learning do not meet in person; instead the entire course is offered via the Internet, Blackboard (GW’s on-line course software), and sometimes using specially designed CD-roms and VHS tapes.
