While safer balls and shorter racquets have been used for years, there were no standard specifications for the ball, racquet, court, net and scoring system based on age. 10 and Under Tennis, utilizing the QuickStart Tennis play format, uses all these elements together—and when all of the specifications are used together, it makes a tremendous difference in how kids learn and play. Another key is that there were very few competitions using scaled-down—or “right-sized”—equipment and courts, so using the slower balls and shorter racquets was limited to a teaching tool rather than a play and competition format.
