How iron and folic acid supplement cause black stool?

0

The reason your stool is turning black is due to the Iron supplement. Your body can’t absorb much of the Iron in supplements so it usually comes back out. If you want to increase the Iron in your blood stay away from the supplements and get the iron through food. Thats how your body absorbs it best. The only “supplement” that has high Iron that you an use is Blackstrap molasses (found in most healthfood stores or sections) which is also high in Calcium. If you don’t want to take that increase the Iron in your diet. Eat: Red Grapes, Dandelion Greens, Spinach, Raspberries, red raspberry leaf tea.
