How important was it to film on location in Ireland instead of somewhere else passing as Ireland?
I know that [filming on location] was important to Anand [Tucker, the director of “Leap Year”] and the filmmakers is that Ireland really becomes a character, and we get to see so many sides to it. We get to see Ireland when it’s stormy and Ireland when it’s beautiful and see Ireland at its best and its worst with all of its trials and tribulations, but at the same time the warmth of the people — although Anna sees it as very, very strange and very foreign and confusing. But once she sort of lets go of her control and she surrenders to the magic of the place, she really opens her up and it helps her to [blossom].
