How important REALLY is response-time on the best TVs?
(I’m referring to high-quality TVs here….) It is mentioned in the specs, but never really addressed in any reviews. Are they all so efficient that it is not really a discernable factor? We are shopping between the Samsung 55″UNB8500 and Toshiba SV670 and the Toshiba supposedly has a seemingly high response-time. The Samsung LCD we have now quotes response time of 4 ms, the Toshiba LED we are looking at is 16 ms (doesn’t that seem like a big difference? I don’t know), whereas the Samsung 8500 LED is .02 ms or something. Only worried that the 16 seems high, especially for watching hockey, for example. Correct myself, it’s the top Samsung plasma with the super-low response time. And yes I agree, that at some point it would be a meaningless difference. The Toshiba we are looking at is rated “very good” by CNet, as opposed to “excellent”. I was incorrect, the response time is 8ms on that one. Response time is VERY important! Especially if you watch a lot of fast motion content like sports
