How important is the first impression?
Making good first impressions is vital to building a successful legal image. The old cliché is really true: you rarely get a second chance at a first impression. A recent Wall Street Journal article reported that it takes a mere seven seconds for people to decide whether they want to do business with you. Seven seconds is only long enough to form a first impression based on appearance alone. We live in a visual society and this fact cannot be ignored. Can any of us afford to project anything but a positive and professionally appropriate image if all we have is seven seconds? In addition, a good first impression is important because assuming you get a second chance, it will take you three times as long, if at all, to change that poor first impression.
