How important is scope for Critical Reasoning?
Finding the scope of an argument is very important for Critical Reasoning, just as it is in Reading Comprehension. The scope of an argument is very narrow-while the argument’s topic is its general subject matter, the scope is the specific part of the subject matter that the author is concerned about. Figuring out the scope of an argument is key for all types of Critical Reasoning questions, since any answer choice that falls outside of this scope must be wrong.
