How important is my income vs. my parents on the FAFSA?

Your income is looked at first before your parents. If I remember correctly, about half of what you earn is counted towards your EFC. So if you eared 18,000 last year the minimum EFC score you would get is 9000. Then what ever your parents information would contribute to that. But honestly, there is NO for sure way to know without filling out the form. At the very least, you will be eligible for student loans with an EFC of 9000. Everyone qualifies for those. Good luck.
