How important is mental performance in being physically fit for sports activities?
The answer differs for situations. For the person who’s playing sports to stay fit, being mentally prepared helps dedication and confidence. The person doesn’t give up because of small failures; instead, they continue to play the sport, improve their fitness and health, and stay in good shape. For the competitive athlete, as the athlete reaches their physical peak, physical gains (a) are more and more difficult to make, and (b) have less and less impact on success. It becomes more obvious that the mental game plays a large part in success. Given two people who are physically similar, the person who is more confident, strategic, and knowledgeable will have better success.
