How important is intercultural management and what challenges are managers facing today?
Professor Nardon: “With globalisation and European integration a lot of companies are moving from local to global business. Suddenly we have to work with different cultures. Before, companies had independently operating subsidiaries in other countries. Now, because of cost-cutting, globalisation and technological innovation, there is a tendency to do things in a more integrated way. Different subsidiaries have to work together. That presents challenges to managers who are used to working with people from the same country and the same culture. Now they need a new mindset and have to think about their jobs in global terms.
