How important is human interface technology?
• We already live in a digital world. Digital computing is a maturing field, broadband telecommunications is also maturing and becoming invasive and pervasive. Mobility, cloud computing, ubiquity and artificial intelligence add to this mix. But the key to exploiting of all this technology is how does this really empower people….what can the human really do with it…how can it make our lives better, more productive…along with how do we preserve our environment for future generations? The key issue that has to be addressed is how do we get the bits into and out of the brain. This is the frontier that is being addressed by the HIT Labs. The technology of the interface between the human and the machine is the most fundamental and important technology that we can be working on in the first half of the 21st Century.
