VERY IMPORTANT. Moisture in the canal can contaminate the sealer to ineffectiveness, and “wet” the dentin causing impaired adherence of sealer and gutta-percha. Moisture “pushed” into the periapex during canal obturation has been linked as a possible factor in post-operative pain.
