How important is communication within the team?
SH: Communication is really important because when you’re marking one player it’s very difficult to see what’s going on in another section of the court. You need to be able to listen to what other people are saying while concentrating on your player. If you’re standing at the post you need to be able to call to everybody else to let them know what’s going on around them. RYG: What makes a good korfball player? SH: A good player is somebody who’s able to work effectively as part of the team. That’s a vital skill to have. They need to be able to communicate to the other players on the court and listen out for other players telling them where they should be. RYG: What is the key to a successful team? SH: A successful team needs to be focused and they need to have the determination and the drive to win. They also need to enjoy what they’re doing.
