How important are the gifts, prayers, and work projects of churches for the Childrens Homes?
All of the ways churches are involved at TBCH help to provide the operating funds necessary to help children in need. With an annual operating budget of approximately $7,000,000, every church gift and every cent given by church members is vitally important! Consider this: • To teach the children in our care Christian values without restriction, Tennessee Baptist Children’s Homes does not accept government funding. Therefore, TBCH is dependent on the gifts of churches to provide homes in 6 locations statewide for children. • Each year, the Mother’s Day Offering at 2,000 churches in Tennessee provides approximately 35% of the funds needed to care for the children. • Tennessee Baptist churches send a portion of their weekly offerings to the Tennessee Baptist Convention each year through the Cooperative Program, the national giving plan of the Southern Baptist Convention. • Woman’s Missionary Union, the national and state women’s mission organization of the Southern Baptist Convention, was
