How important are softwares in Print media/ Graphic design?
Very important. Some in house agencies rely on what software they already have. However when it comes to creating files in certain software, it’s best to rely on the most popular and most used software since these will be used most often. Most industry professionals use Macintosh software but most programs convert to PC platforms. Its always best to learn many programs, but stick to the most common softwares used when transporting files back and forth between digital formats. As far as producing your own files for print and you will be the only one to handle files, use what is best for you. I still use older versions of software, but I still get the job done. Good Luck.
