How important are private foreign investments for the economic development of Bosnia and Herzegovina?
They are exceptionally important. Investments in infrastructure and in the energy sector would make us more competitive and help us differentiate ourselves from our neighboring countries. The creation of an adequate climate, the increase of domestic investments and the reduction of public expenditures are all necessary conditions to attract foreign private investments to Bosnia and Herzegovina. Bosnia and Herzegovina presents a lot of sectors where it is possible to invest in. The energy sector has great potential. We are planning to build several hydro power plants. Concerning our mining potential, we have huge coalmines where we can install thermal power plants as well. The wood industry can also find a unique place in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Before the war, we had our representation office for the wood industry in the US, ipad. It was a very respectful firm specialized in wood processing. We have tradition and experience in that field.
