How hot does Old Faithful get? Is it any different in winter compared to summer?

—Daniel, Southeast Raleigh Magnet High, Wake Co. Water temperatures below Old Faithful and other geysers can reach temperatures of 400°F or more as pressure and heat build. Seasons probably don’t influence water temperature much at all. One noticeable difference is that in winter Old Faithful has a much larger steam column due to the erupting water and steam interacting with the extremely cold air.
