How Hormone Imbalance Can Cause Acne?
Basically, the hormone androgens are largely associated with various skin diseases. Many of the prevalent skin disorders are mostly triggered by excessive doses of the hormone androgen. Technically, such occurs when the high level of hormones stimulate the enlargement of the skin’s sebaceous glands. As a result, the glands produce and secret sebum. This substance then makes our skin oily and very prone to acne. Once our sebaceous glands produce the sebum, the substance is accumulated by the hair follicles in dermis. Such usually go up the hair shafts and reaches the external layer of our skin. When this happens, the skin becomes very prone to dirt and bacteria build up. When the sebum mixes with dirt, the follicles and shafts of the skin become plugged. A plugged root follicle is an excellent breeding ground for germs and bacteria. This causes acne.
