How helpful and pricey are guitar/music shops?

Hi There, hope your well. My friend has over 100 guitars as he is a musician. I myself had my Violin and Flute repaired by music shops. Firstly, it really depends I would do some research around your area, probably use google. It is posible that it may have stretched. This happened to my Violin, I tuned one string higher than it should’ve been and it snapped. Thankfully it didn’t damage the bridge but it need looking at. I managed to get it done on the spot, really just need a new string which set itself anything up to £20 but you can get it for less. Like a guitar the violin has many quality strings to choose from. I would set aside at least £40 and try to ring around. I would do to bigger stores because the smaller independant ones will ask for more. They need to make there money from somewhere!!! Some places charge to restring, and some dont. Where I’ve been, they all charged. Not knowing where you are from, try bigger stores instead….. I’m now doing it myself and always best to r
