Narberth is completely surrounded by Lower Merion Township, a first class township with an excellent record of community services and accomplishments. Recently Narberth has formed a task force with Lower Merion Township to study the Montgomery Avenue commercial area. Lower Merion Township has formed a joint venture with the City of Philadelphia to ensure the safety and vitality of the City Avenue shopping areas. Narberth is a little over one mile from the corporate limits of the City of Philadelphia.
