How have you found the use of Personal Profiling & Indicators (DISC, Myers-Briggs, Axiology etc etc) within Business?
This was selected as Best Answer Alistair, This answer is based on opinions of two industrial psychologists that have extensive experience in business including consulting with large corporations as well being businesses owners. It is a good question and one I have discussed at great length with them over the years. The Myers-Briggs is not useful. Some of the other social style, behavioral or personality profile instruments can be very useful for understanding what people value. When you understand what a person values then you can better communicate with them. This is useful in sales, motivation, team building and general interpersonal relations. The ability to be an effective communicator also has a direct relationship to leadership and management. We have had our best luck with the “Social Style Profile” which sometimes goes under names such as behavioral style profile or personal style profile.
