How have the Steelers fared on ‘MNF’ under Mike Tomlin?
Tomlin has fared quite well in prime-time games, whether they’re on Sunday, Monday or Thursday. He’s 12-4 in night games. But he’s enjoyed particularly good success on MNF with a perfect 5-0 record. Under Tomlin, the Steelers are 3-1 on Thursday nights and 4-3 on Sunday nights. Throughout their history, the Steelers are 38-22 on Monday nights. Only three other teams have more MNF wins: Dallas 42, Miami 40 and San Francisco 39. When was the last time the Steelers and Bengals played on a Monday night? It’s been 18 years since these two divisional rivals meet on MNF. That was back on Oct. 19, 1992, during Bill Cowher’s first season as coach when the Steelers won 20-0 at Three Rivers Stadium. The last time the Steelers and Bengals played on Monday night in Cincinnati was Oct. 13, 1986, at Riverfront Stadium. The Bengals won that night, 24-22. The Bengals are 9-18 on MNF.
