How have the religious beliefs of the world encouraged or discouraged the use of psychic ability?
This very question could indicate your own religious poisoning. Fears were used by the church (the government then), to control the psyches of people, and later their behaviors and lives. Mom never taught me to follow a God full of hell, devil, fire etc. Thus I have no fears of God or the devil for that matter. However, once I asked the local priest why the bad people who had gone down to hell, had not gone up to the sun where it s hot. He told me, “the Bible says its down, and you should not question the word of God.” I also asked him why his nose was always red and why his breath smelled like wine all the time. Thus I got fired from my church (and school) at an early age, and had to look for God and what it means to be human in my own way, away from the regular, deceiving religious dogmas.
