How have the Ramones influenced fashion?
Bands are still wearing leather jackets and jeans. But that started with Marlon Brando, James Dean, and Elvis Presley and continued all the way through the biker movies of the ‘60s, and to the Ramones. And then, of course, the English punk scene picked up on the look and would copy it, wearing pins on their leather jackets and buying Converse sneakers and Levi’s. It’s really just a traditional American look. Why do you think it still resonates? Any fan can look the way you do in a leather jacket and jeans and sneakers and not have to spend $3,000 or $4,000 on a custom-made outfit. They can enjoy it without having to feel like they’ve gone bankrupt.
