How have HIA programs/projects been funded sustainably?
As organizations get trained on Health Impact Assessment and conduct their first few HIAs, they often start to explore the question of how to sustainably fund an ongoing HIA program. We thought it would be a good idea to begin to develop an answer to this based on our experience at HIP and the experience of some of our partners. We encourage you to contact us with additions to these preliminary ideas. 1. Public and Private Foundations As the field grows, successes are documented, and topic areas for HIAs expand, more and more foundations are interested in funding HIA projects and programs.
