How have donations been used in the past and how will they be used in the future?
In general, funds raised support the Children’s Heart Fund’s efforts to help children with congenital heart disease and their families. Determinations of how the funds are spent are made by the Children’s Heart Fund Board. With the generosity of donors and sponsors, the Children’s Heart Fund has been able to purchase new state-of the art equipment, including an echocardiography machine and EKG machine, as well as provide funding for the Pediatric Cardiology fellowship program. The Children’s Heart Fund is currently supporting two critical research studies examining right ventricular function by using two promising and new techniques: cardiac MRI and Doppler tissue imaging. In the coming months, the Children’s Heart Fund will be funding a renovation of the Division of Pediatric Cardiology’s clinical suites. The goal of the renovation is to make the space more aesthetically pleasing and functional.
