How have conflicts between French & English speakers affected Canadian history for over 300 years?
I don’t know about 300 years of Canadian history, but I do know that in my small community here in Ontario, there’s still a lot of conflict. We have two high schools in our town, one french private and one english public. Both schools are constantly being compared, and the students cannot ride the bus together. Each school has their own bus line (which is ridiculous, seeing as there aren’t nearly enough students to require all those buses), and both schools never have the same PD days. It’s as though the adults push on the issue of seperating the english and the french and as a result, there’s isn’t much socialising between the two schools. It’s very sad.
