How have conditioners improved too? What should consumers look for?
Conditioners have improved by being able to restore the protective layer that was stripped away by the ammonia or peroxide. Many good conditioning agents are in the Silicone family. Some botanicals and natural oils condition and moisturize as well. I’m particularly impressed with Pantene’s new line of shampoos and conditioners for color-treated hair that contains a new polymer that helps restore the layer that is stripped away and makes hair able to absorb more silicone to condition and protect it.
