How has the structure of the CICA Handbook – Assurance changed as a result of the issuance of the CASs?

0

The CICA Handbook – Assurance was changed as follows: • A Preface and Glossary of Terms were added. • Canadian Standard on Quality Control (CSQC) 1, Quality Control for Firms that Perform Audits and Reviews of Financial Statements and Other Assurance Engagements, replaced GSF-QC “General Standards of Quality Control for Firms Performing Assurance Engagements.” • 36 Canadian Auditing Standards (CASs) replaced the auditing standards dealing with audits of financial statements. • The scope of certain assurance engagement standards was amended because they no longer apply to audits of financial statements and other historical financial information.
