Pascoe: The Internet has changed the expatriate assignment totally. Starting with e-mail, so that you do not have to run up horrendous phone bills trying to phone your family. You can keep in touch with people back at home and you can read a newspaper back home so that you know what is going on. I used to listen to short wave radio. We used to have to make an appointment to get a phone call out of Bangkok, and we’d have to wait two hours for the operator to call back. You can find anything you need to know locally as well as globally on the Internet and order things you need. Q: For families with children, where can they go to find information about schools? Pascoe: The most popular one is International Schools K-12. Parents can contact the school via e-mail to get more information. Q: And what if people are looking for something unique, something that’s exciting and fun? Pascoe: There is one Web site that I really like. It’s called Tales from a Small Planet. The reason I like it is th
