How has the Edexcel A specification changed?
• Each unit now comprises four sections rather than five • The assessment objectives have led to some content changes: – knowledge at 10% is assessed only by the key words – understanding at 40% remains the same – personal and evaluation have been increased to 50% matching the AT1 and AT2 of KS 1–3 • There is no coursework, just written exams • Candidates study one unit for the short course and two units for the full course • The full course now fits the Key Stage 4 Citizenship and PSHEE requirements much more fully Find out more about this specification on Edexcel’s site. Year 9 support pack If you are planning to teach the full course in September of Year 9, you can download a free support pack which shows you how to use the current Religion and Life and Religion and Society books to teach your Year 9 the new specification for the first two terms.
