How has the District been fiscally accountable?
The schools continue to be fiscally accountable by making responsible cuts when needed. In the last three years, the District has eliminated $11 million from the general fund. Without Issue 49, the District will have to make an additional $14 million in cuts. Those cuts will affect educational quality. The Districts Administration has given back their raises for the year, and teachers have agreed to freeze their base pay in their next contract for the 2011-2012 school year.
