How has support from the EOU Foundation and Alumni Association helped this past year?
Both organizations have been tremendous. Through the EOU Foundation, we have been able to increase the amount of private scholarships available, and this makes a huge difference in our enrollment. The EOU Alumni Association, under the leadership of Mary Jo Lemon, has been very busy and very visible, hosting pizza and ice cream socials in the residence halls, organizing alumni receptions throughout a large part of the state, giving money to the 100-$100 club, and so much more. When I called upon alumni to help represent EOU at high school awards ceremonies this past spring where our scholarships were announced, they were right there. Are there any updates on the effort to restore the Grande Staircase? The Grand Staircase Task Force has held two lengthy meetings with landscape engineers and architects and I am waiting for their written recommendations to be submitted. Something will be done with the staircase, but it is a very expensive issue for us and we are trying to make sure we are
