How has LSU Baseball changed over the years?
LSU Baseball hasn’t changed, but overall baseball has changed. Overall baseball has built facilities much sooner than we did, changed coaches and gone into it and competed well. It is, without a question of a doubt, harder to win now than it has ever been because all of the teams take it seriously. I am very proud of the fact that LSU started it and showed people that if you work real hard and you put a ballpark at the corner of your campus you can be part of the community and draw a crowd and make money. And that is what has made the other athletic directors move on baseball. Q: Did you have a set pre-game routine? Superstitions? A: As a coach, I was never a pre-game routine or superstition guy, just a regular ball coach. I did a lot of things that were percentage things. The most important thing for me in baseball – the biggest thing that ever happened for me and for LSU in baseball – was the fact that I was able to coach in front of 7,000 people in the tournaments. That is how we we
