A lot has changed for the better. Women have become more aware of their rights. Women are more alert to signs of gender-based discrimination; they do not tolerate violence and take legal steps to free themselves from a toxic relationship. Women are more likely to challenge limitations resulting from gender-based social stereotypes as they become active in male-dominated areas such as the military, new technologies and they decide to invest in their personal development and professional life rather than only be mothers and sacrifice for a family. Women have become more demanding towards their partners and so more and more women do not accept a patriarchal family model and demand greater involvement of men in household duties and childcare. Unfortunately, our politicians are not keeping up with the social changes underway and growing demands of women. Consider the obstacles that the proponents of the law on equal status of women and men and the law on combating domestic violence faced. T
