How has it affected relationships (non-sexual) with members of the opposite sex?
Theyre very good at keeping silent about it, clamming up whenever the subject is broached, and not wanting to hear any details, so Id say its affected me very little. I think. Do you know anyone now who is still in “the life”? If so, how is your relationship with her? Since I moved away and deliberately did not keep any contacts, no, I dont know anyone in the life any more. [In the flesh; I have online friends now.] However, there was a window of time when I didnt work and had a very close relationship with a woman (Kelly) who was still working. We remained friends for years until an unrelated dispute severed the relationship. I had no issues about her being in the life, and she was glad to have a friend who understood what she was continuing to experience. Some days I miss her a lot, and I hope shes managed to extricate herself and build a life that’s more fulfilling to her. But if she hasn’t, I still wouldn’t think any less of her for it.
