How has Godrej Consumer Products performed?
The two main contributors to Godrej Consumer Products are hair colour (25 per cent of sales) and soaps (60 per cent). Our market share in soaps is around 8.6 per cent. In terms of margins, our hair colour business is much more profitable. The lowest price fashion colour available today is our brand Renew. We ve had a few launches recently, including powder fashion colours, where we ve introduced sachets at Rs 15. This will expand the market and increase affordability. Our new colours in Colorsoft and Renew are doing very well. We have also re-launched Colorsoft as an ammonia-free colour, which is also doing well. In the last quarter of last year, our hair colour sales grew 38 per cent. Do you forsee growth in the hair colour business? The business is growing, but market penetration is low.
