The USA soccer team again failed to defeat Ghana in the 2010 World Cup. The match televised live on ABC showed the US Soccer team getting off to another slow start against Ghana in what is the knockout stage of the World Cup. The defense again failed the US given up an early goal to the Ghanaian striker Prince five minutes in to the match and giving up a goal early in the extra time. It was a tale of different halves. The first belonging to Ghana the second belonging to Ghana. The second the US who came to life culminating in Landon Donovan’s penalty kick goal bringing the score to 1-1. The US had opportunities in the second half to go up but could not punch it in. The extra time belonged to Ghana. In a fashion similar to the first half the US gave up an early extra time goal when Gyan struck giving Ghana a 2-1 lead. Then on Ghana played a successful game of keep away. It was clear that the US did not have enough in the tank for another miracle finish.
