How has arthroscopic knee surgery affected my quadricep muscle?
Two weeks ago I had arthroscopic knee surgery. The MRI showed I had a possible torn medial posterior meniscus and a fair amount of cartilage damage around and under my patella(knee cap). When I came to after the surgery, I was told the meniscus wasn’t torn but they still cleaned up quite a bit of the damaged cartilage. The next day at my post-op the doctor told me he had smoothed out the cartilage and realigned my knee-cap. We were told that the regular “get up and get back to normal” time for cartilage clean-up was a couple days on crutches(if that) and I’d be walking with little pain in as little as a week. It’s been two weeks with physical therapy 3 times a week and I am still bringing a crutch with me in public because it hurts bad enough that if someone were to knock me, I would fall over and be in immense pain, and at home, I still have a major limp. I still cannot use my quadricep muscle in my right leg without extreme pain(use as in any type of “squatting” movement like stairs,
