How harmful are polyurethane spray paint mist on bare human skin?

Fact is that your skin protects you against many things. The outer layer is dead and keeps all kinds of things you are exposed to every day from killing you. That said, you don’t know what the solvents in the paint will do if they penetrate the dead layer. So wear an old shirt or something so it doesn’t get right on your skin. It is a needless exposure to get the stuff on you. Wear gloves when handling or mixing the paint too. I used to paint cars, not talking from my heiney here.
