How hard is it to use APGen?
APGen is a programming environment for pre-rendering Web pages and other content. It is quite similar to the Active Server Pages programming environment, and is just as easy to program. At the same time, APGen does require basic developer skills. Any developer that can program with Active Server Pages can learn to use APGen in a half day. Nearly all of an ASP developer’s knowledge, skills, and source code can be carried over to APGen programming: The scripting languages used in APGen are identical to those used in ASP; the same editors, script debuggers, COM components, and databases used for ASP programming can also be used in APG scripts; existing VBScript and JScript source code can be copied into APG scripts. The VBScript and JScript script engines used in APGen are written and updated by Microsoft – as the script engines improve with new language features, the new language features can be used in APGen.
