How hard is it to take off laminate counters?

It’s pretty easy usually. Take out all the drawers & breadboards and empty the cabinets. Then lay on your back in the cabinets and you’ll see some screws into the boards that hold the sides of the cabinets square that go into the bottom side of the counters. Back them out and off comes the counter top. Be careful about the backsplash. If it is also laminate, you will leave a white unpainted space where the countertop went up. Also, if it is caulked, cut the caulk so you don’t hurt the drywall. If the backsplash is tile, be careful that you don’t hurt it. The substrate should be a good grade of plywood. If you remove the laminate from the boards and turn them upside down, you might be able to reuse them for the new countertop. Just make sure the boards are flat, level and without contact cement residue. Good luck! If it doesn’t work, hire someone to redo it!
