To become a physical therapist in the US, you need at least a master’s degree, although almost all programs are doctorate programs (DPT). Preparation for grad school usually involves completion of a bachelor’s degree and taking the GRE examination. You must also complete the courses designated as prerequisite courses by the program to which you hope to apply. Generally speaking, this involves at least a year each of general chem, physics and bio. You will also most likely be required to take anatomy and physiology, psychology and math. National average salary is about $66,000…less for new graduates, more for those with significant experience. There is a high demand at this time. It’s expected to grow quickly over the next ten years. National average salary for nutritionist is about $46,000. Job prospects are expected to remain rather average and less jobs for nutritionists are open nationwide as compared to PT.
