How green are supermarkets/malls?

basically it all boils own to supply and demand… if the demand is there then the supply will follow… i dont know about the uk, but here in America we use a wide variety of construction materials to build our homes and other buildings… including recycled lumber, different metal alloys, rock and aggregate, and even some plastics… as for supermarkets go, some are more “green” than others…. but it mostly depends on the shoppers and the commodities they buy…. if they buy “green” then the supermarket will sell “green”…. my local supermarket just remodeled to include sky lights to take advantage of the natural sunlight…. also in America we utilize mass transit, and our city buses are fuel cell buses that are more efficient then diesel buses…. until we have a viable, affordable way to replace fossil fuels, we are stuck with them… but that day is coming soon… i cant speak for other countrys but America is going green and getting there fast…
