How good would Liberace have been as a classical pianist?
I guess my answer is, how would you define a good classical pianist? If it is someone who not only plays well, and has memorized hundreds of difficult pieces. Who understands the characteristic of the instrument and has the ability to connect to the audience. Then yes, he was all that. I met him and he was a very warm and caring individual. He had a great influence on a close friend of mine. He was the type of person that if he saw you, he’d pull up a chair and sit down. He played the type of music people liked to hear.
