Not very. While scrolling down is no problem, scrolling up to a previous TAPE or DASD volume does not work. Scrolling up to a previous data set in a concatenation of sequential data sets does not work. When a concatenation of libraries is opened (using BPAM) the contents of all libraries are accessible. When a concatenation of sequential files is opened (using BSAM or QSAM) no more than one data set is open at any moment. The use of BDAM would allow concurrent access to all extents of a multi-volume DASD data set, but this would not assist multi-volume tape data set processing.

*Sadly, we had to bring back ads too. Hopefully more targeted.
