How good is MS technical support?

Technical support was very responsive and turnaround time was amazingly fast (sent in on a Tuesday, back on a Saturday). Unfortunately, it took two tries to get the problem (bad DVD drive) fixed. The moral of the story: write everything down and make sure tech support understands what is wrong and that they fix the right thing. I personally never buy extended warranties, but I did buy one for the Xbox only because it is so freakin’ new. After seeing my friend’s Xbox die, and now that mine has shown the very occasional ‘unrecognized disc’ error, I don’t feel terribly stupid for putting down an extra $30 for two years’ coverage (throug
