How fog and mist affect telecommunication radio equipment?
They affect how radio is propagated and the magnitude of the change is dependent on the radio frequency, the size of the water droplets, density and how far through the mist the signal has moved. Usually the changes are very small when the droplet size is << the wavelength of the radio signal and for fog and mist this means frequencies up above Ka band and quite long paths through dense fog before you start to see big changes in propagation. As they are very small, fog and mist particles are also nearly spherical (surface tension dominates) so there is not much dependence on polarisation . try this out for fun http://omlc.ogi.
